I'm recording an electric guitar with a Senheiser dynamic mic, and when i go into the emu-1820 into nuendo, the guitar sounds thin and tinny. any mic i use does this. I tried going directly into a Berhenger t1951, and it sounds far clearer, but has no balls and no attack...how can I recreate the sound my amp makes? I have a Groove Tubes soul-o 75, so I like my sound a little dirty. We have a Marshall MXL 990 and 991 condensor mics, two senheiser e8155's, a shure sm58 beta, a shure sm58, and a senheiser e609. If i don't have the mics needed to reproduce a real guitar sound, what do i need that's relatively inexpensive? ( under $500). a mic pre maybe? Also, my recording space (my apt) has regular walls and hardwood floors...would this make a difference?
thanks for any help!!!
