20 years ago i had a keyboard (non-pro Yamaha), a four track Tascam recorder, a guitar, peddles, etc.
I would like to get a similar, reasonably priced set up with todays technology, nothing fancy. I don't know where to start now.
I would like a minimum of eight track recorder (preferably 10), preferably computer based, which I can plug in my new non-pro Yamaha keyboard into. It has drums on it and most of the sounds I require for keyboards. I still have a Telecaster guitar and was thinking of buying one of those amp-simulator guitar effects modules that I could plug into the computer. i will probably pick up a cheap bass as well.
Where do I start? What kind of recording equipment am I looking at and how much? I looked at pro-tools briefly, I have seen various Garageband types of software, but I honestly don't know what they do completely.
It would be nice to have some computer generated sound effects or even an ability to create loops with my guitar, but that isn't essential.
Any advice?
