Okay, since my last post I've been a little busy at my "day job", but this is where I'm at: We started out recording our first song by recording the rhythm track(drums, bass, rhythm electric and acoustic guitars)in tracks 2-5. We then recorded the lead in track 1 w/cosm effects on the lead guitar. We then recorded the vocals, lead and backup. After recording we put the effects on the vocals and then onto the instruments. Then for the next 3 songs we ran tracks 1-5 dry thinking we could come back and add effects on later. The problem now is that when you try to add effects to the instruments it won't stay, as soon as you move to the next track to add effects it's gone from the track you was just on. Vocal effects were done with no issuses. If anyone knows anything I might be able to do or if anyone is familar with the boss br-1600 ....HELP !!!!!!!!

there's limited fx processing onboard so it will only do one in real time... if they need fx then tey'll have to be recorded with the track... or limited to generalized fx to the overall (reverb)

so I should let the lead record over his original track w/ effects? I think thats how we accomplished it the first time.

It sounds like you are not saving the f/x settings after changing them. With the BR600, you hit and "record" and "stop" to save the f/x changes you have added/changed during the last listen-through.

If the BR-16 is like the VS-2400 you can "print" the effects to tracks when you are sure you like them by bouncing the track, with the effect on it, down to a new track. Once it's done, it's done though. I'm not that familiar with the BR-16 but if you have a way to back up the dry tracks I would in case you decide later that the effect is horrible. An undo CD if you will.
