lol is there a sign on my back that says "GIVE ME BAD REP!" ??? Did this post come out wrong? i thought i was giving constructive criticism, lol, if i actually cared about how many green dots i have on a forum id be mad, but this gave me a pretty good idea...

unless theres a serious downside to having negative rep, i would like everyone to give me (friendly) negative rep points. If im ganna do something, im not ganna half ass it. so im not ganna be borderline negative, im going to have more red dots then a kid with chicken pox, so RACK EM UP!

(im serious, give me negative rep, leave me your name and ill trade you for positive rep)

It was probably Cloneboy trying to stir up some shit.
Anyways, thanks for the advice Konrad. When i sit down to mix this on the real, ill A/B aginst some Jordinson to see where im at.

Take care.

Blind Mixing huh?

Thats ballsy!

You have to have some pretty imprssive audio foresight for that to be even 50% effective.

Best of luck to you Eck.

Yeah. Well thats how I mixed the song "Seraphim" that I posted last week. Cant seem to get the kick drum right but everything else seems ok for a live recording.
When I do normal mixing I solo each track to get the sound I want then do minor tweaks with everything else playing, so I guess I learnt how to blind mix from that.

Wow, liking the sound you have there. I think you need to play around with the EQ of the drums a bit. They definately sound quieter at parts too. The second half of the song i feel the drums should be slightly louder, they are perfect at the begining though, just needs a wee play aboot with the EQ, especially on the snair, i think it sounds a little muddy, but maybe thats the way you want it to sound? Anyway, nice one.

Wow, didn't realise this thread was so long, no need for my comments then, lol

If it works for you, it works for you but why on earth would you go about it that way? That has to be so much harder.

I just seem to know what works well in a mix when I solo everything first. I actually find it faster soloing each track, then doing tweaks.

very nice sound overall xfinsterx. i have a question though and maybe you can help me. no im trying to achieve a very saturated yet very warm and smooth distoted guitar tone like the one youve achieved here. most of what i listen to sounds alot like this ands its a guitar tone ive been trying to replicate now for a while.you seem to be able to achive this well. i was wondering if you wouldnt ming giving me tsome insight into you r micking and mixing process. i know thats a bit general but any advise would be apreaciated. like well how much further does it go from intial micing tech to achive this sound or is most of it captured at that first point. well once again man great work and thanx for the time
