I just got a new computer to replace my 4-yr old beast. When I transferred my delta 44 across to the new machine it had weird problems. sometimes the audio would play back with clicks and pauses...somewhat like a skipping cd i suppose. the problem seemed to be worse when the computer was busy.....

but it has 2 gigs of ram, and 3.2 mhz, and it should be able to handle it. its the newest driver too.

has anyone had this problem?

if i cant fix it (i know nothing about computers) i will probably buy a firewire/usb soundcard. i welcome opinions on the best deal for something cheap (in the range of a delta 44 i guess). i would like to have as many inputs as possible.

is usb fast enough for high quality recording?

thanks for your help

Did you install the delta drivers in the new computer?

The Clicks and Pops sound Like maybe your Latency Buffer settings aren"t set up properly....
I get that same thing on my Delta 44 when I don"t have a Large enough Buffer....

Good Luck

PS: if you end up replaceing your Delta 44 and want to sell it for a Good price then let me Know and maybe I"ll take it off of your Hands....

double on buffer

I agree about the buffer...

Just go in to the control panel, click the "hardware settings" tab and up the level of the "DMA buffer"..

SHOULD fix the problem.

If not, then I don't know.
