Bah! Nevermind:

From RecordingHacks:

The MXL BCC-1 is a small diaphragm condenser in a large body aesthetically similar to the classic Electro-Voice RE20 and RE27 broadcast dynamics.
The capsule is the same as is found in MXL’s 603S, 604, and 606 pencil mics. It is MXL’s standard small-diaphragm capsule, here internally shockmounted to prevent handling noise.

Yeah I saw it a while back but kept my distance when I found out it was a SDC and not a dynamic like the EV27 or 27

Well if I were to get the BCC-1 ..... I would send it right off to Michael Joly for modification. :thumbs up:

:D Yes I know! I wounder how that large body chamber effects the sound of that SDC?

I'd be willing to best there's some crazy resonances and ringing happening inside that giant body chamber. If MXL is willing to make a body that large and still slap their same old SDC capsule in there, I don't have any faith that they'd take the time and trouble to dampen the body and make sure it's acoustically sound.

They also have the BCD-1 which looks to be a similar body with a dynamic element. I was pretty interested for a while. But it didn't seem like many other were taking the bait. Since I'm kind of a follower anyway, I lost interest too.
But I would like to hear from someone who actually bit the bullet and tried one out.
