Hey all,
What's you favorite mic, the one you go to when no other mic will do, the mic you would jump into a hail of bullets for, that one special mic (or mics) that makes you feel as though all that monkeying around for the "perfect placement" is worthwhile????
Let's hear what ya got!!!!! Steve :)

DOH!!!!!!

I think I get it now, ........ the purpose for the options, I mean!!! LOL I'll do better next time!!! Steve

Jee... I think I understand it. So by way of elimination... hmmm... I'll vote for "the use of these options". Yup. :D

I feel like I just smoked a flag from another thread. I'm soooo confused man.

LMAO!!!!!

I'm glad there are senses of humor out there, or this post would have just been down the tubes (it still may be)..... I just want to hear what mics are the favorites of the lot, I personally like the Shure SM57............. Feel free to post actual responses people....... LOL Oh, and Roel, I would have expected a vote for "I do not understand" from you.......... :p See yall on the next post!!!!!! Steve :D

Steve :D
I don't get it...

Where did I put my delicious piece of pie now... Hmmm... Darn. That was yesterday. :(

there isnt much u cant do with a Shure sm57, a Marshall mxlv67, and a pair of Marshall mxl603's......

It is not like I had a budget that allowed me to choose any mic, but when I did choose, I chose Studio Projects C1. I've got an SM57 too, but I HAD to have a LD condenser.

I've been using a 421 on vocals lately. It's a cool dynamic, everyone should have one if you don't already. It usually spends a good part of its life over a floor tom or inside a kick, but it does have other uses. Definetly one of my favs.

the obvious choice is "the use of these options"
If we didn't have "options", or, heretofore, uses for these "options", then we wouldn't have anything to "not understand", and therefore would not have the option to say "I do not understand"
there must be a certain "understanding" of these "options" in order to make "use" of them. It follows then, that, there must first be "uses" in order for there first to be "options", and an outright "understanding" of both "uses" and "options"

-jhe

which part? the "uses" or the "options"
if you don't understand the "uses" then you really do not have the "option" of not understanding the "options"
if you don't have an understanding of the "options" then you do not have a "use" for the "uses"
in order to "understand" the "options" you must first be aware of thier "uses"
to "understand" the "uses" you must first recognize that their are "options"
But above all you must have an "understanding" of "understanding". to have the "understanding" of "understanding" you must first understand the "options" and their "uses".
Finally, the "use" of "understanding" is an "option", for once you "understand" you have the "option" of "not understanding"
In which case you have the "option" of maknig "use" of the phrase "I do not understand the use of these options"

BTW-
I like my GT AM-11 and my 57's.

I swear by the Realistic mic I got with my handheld portable cassette recorder (ya know, the one with the built-in "condenser mic" and the 2" speaker) back in the 70's.................

jhe,

Are you a technical writer? I think I've read some manuals you wrote... ;)

LOL!
I'm a technical writer, and I have to say jhe sounds more like he's in sales to me.

Ahha, Tooshay You guys!!!!!

Hey Roel, just pokin' a bit o' fun your way man, I think my flub with the options has to be one of THE dumbest things I've seen in quite some time!!! LMAO Maybe my status as a newbie hasn't worn away yet, as I believe this mistake has "Amateur Poll Poster" written all over it!!!! :D Oh, and James He, after I laughed myself dizzy, I realized you had a very strong arguement in "The use of these options"..... I agree 100% bro!!!!! LOL
Steve

yes charger, you are correct.
if fact I am selling a book entitled
"Understanding the Uses of Technical Writing"
of course, buying the book is an "option", but since you are a technical writer yourself, you would perhaps find the book to be of some "use". So I would highly recomend it. Ths is a must read for anyone intrested in technical writing, or the "uses" of "options" in gereral. I must say, after personally reading the book, i suddenly became aware of more "options". More "options" than I had ever imagined possible!

-jhe

Hmm... perhaps I should buy that, especially since I already have "Uses of Understanding in Technical Writing," "Technical Uses of Writing Understanding," "Uses of Writing Technical Understanding," and "Using Writing for Understanding Technicality." Also, on order from Amazon, "Options: Using Choices to Understand Our Understanding."
