What's your favorite piece of rack gear?

The Roland Space Echo. Not actually *mine*, it belongs to my singer. :)
 
Mackie 1202 mixer, my only piece:rolleyes: , so I suppose it wins by default.
 
ART Tube Channel because I like the way synthesizers and drum machines sound when I run them through it. Great in conjunction with my Bass POD and SansAmp too. It definitely gets used in my studio, I only wish it had two channels.
 
I only get to pick one? :(
I guess it would be my vintage Audix 35102 mic pre's.

This is my overall favorite piece of gear, but it doesn't fit into the rack.:(

Oh ok....

My favorite is a 3630 compressor....... it's so versatile and has SO MANY uses!

(mind you, not one of the uses involves anything remotely to do with audio!!!)

Plus I have a fetish for flashing lights!!!

It's not something that I have any particular emotion for, but the most used and essential pieces of rackmounted gear in my studio are the ProTools HD and 888/24 interfaces. Everything I do goes through them - everything else in the rack has alternative options.
 
boss se-50... whenever non-musician friends come overi plug a mic into it and whack some headphones on them, then i get them to talk into the mic while i flick through the presets.... its a great little party trick machine
