The third one, not sure.

I couldn't fit all the lyrics from Siamese Dream into a one post so I picked that line.

I'll be checking out that tune.

edit:
arhhhhh.... f*ckin' typo, and I can't edit it

"So let the sadness come again
On that you can depend on me
Until the bitter, bitter end of the world yeah,
god sleeps in bliss"

Anyway, fwiw, go check my cover of "Moonage Daydream" from Jan03. I'm no Bowie, but it's a rave up good time song.

This is not trolling. This is topical. Thank you.;)

Right on man, that brought back memories. Acoustics sounded cool, captured a lot of the spirit of the song.

heres mine :)

Back of the Bus live at Lee's Palace. I tried to rescue this from an old tape and screwed it up pretty good, but I'm sick of trying right now so...

I spend all my evenings in mourning,

I spend all my mornings alone.

You spent your money to see me tonight,

I spent all mine gettin' stoned.

Now that we're both kind of busted,

dosen't it seem kind of strange?

I'll leave here knowing we're two of a kind,

and you'll leave here knowing my name.

SOMEBODY SHOOT OUT THAT SPOTLIGHT!

Spotlights ain't nothin' but jive.

Roll me a smoke...give me some coke...

and treat me like I am alive.

tell all the ladies im single,

tell Lone Star beer that im dry.

Everyone's lyin' bout livin'.

Everyone's livin' a lie!

Run. Desire Run. Sexual Being.
Run him like a blade, to and through the heart.
No conscience, one motive.
To cater to the hollow.

Scream and feed me, fill me up again.
Temporarily pacify this hugering.

So Grow Libido, Throw dominos of indescrsion down.
Falling all around, in cycles, in circles.
Constantly consuming, conqer and devour.

...... Maynard uses such odd words, but they fit so beautifully.

The Boss

Bruce has written lots of killer lines:

"well our luck may have died and our love may be cold, but with you forever I'll stay..."

-Atlantic City

I think that we all could learn something about "truth" when it comes to lyrics by giving Springsteen a listen. Nebraska is one of the greatest lyrical albums ever made. Just listen to "State Trooper"......Genius!

....IMHO

too late to turn to turn back now, i'm running out of sound
and i am changing, changing
and if we died right now, this fool you love somehow
is here with you
i won't deny the pain
i won't deny the change
and should i fall from grace here with you
would you leave me too?

Smashing Pumpkins, "Galapagos" from Mellon Collie

Just like all of Billy Corgan's love song lyrics; guarded and pessimistic love, but definitely love.

Jon Anderson's cosmic babbling in the song "Awaken" has to be heard in context. The song incidentally may take a few weeks to absorb, but it stays for a lifetime.

high vibration go on
to the sun, don't let my heart
dreaming
past all mortal as we
here we can be.

like the time i ran away
turned around
and you were standing close to me

If we burn our wings
Flying too close to the sun
If the moment of glory
Is over before it's begun
If the dream is won
Though everything is lost
We will pay the price
But we will not count the cost

"Bravado" RUSH

I just love the whole purpose of this lyric. It is so meaningful to me. I love it!!

GREASY HEART by Grace Slick I dedicate this thoughtful apocalyptic song to Betty Rumble """Lady, you keep askin' why he likes you how come
wonder why he wants more, when he's just had some?
Boys, she's got more to play with- in the way of toys.

The lady's eyes go off and on with a finger full of glue.
Lips are drawn upon her face in come-to-me tattoo
Creamy suntan color that fades when she bathes

Paper dresses catch on fire, and you lose her in the haze
Don't ever change, lady, he likes you that way

Because he's just had his hair done, and he wants to use your wig
He's going off the drug thing 'cause his veins are getting big
He wants to sell his paintings, but the market is slooooooow-
They're only paying him two grams now, for a one-man abstract show.

You're your own best toy to play with, remote control hands,
Made for each other- Made in Japan! Woman with a greasy heart- automatic man.

Don't ever change peiple, you're face'll hit the fan
Don't change before the empire falls, you'll laugh so hard you'll crack the walls."

Patty Griffin

Well, my favorite changes about everyday, but they're usually always Patty Griffin songs.

Here's part of Long Ride Home

Long black limosine
Shiniest car I've ever seen
Back seat is nice and clean
Someone dug a hole six long feet in the ground
I said goodbye to you then I threw my roses down

Y'all need to check out Patty Griffin

High noon, Oh I'd sell my soul for water.
Nine years worth of breaking my back.
There's no sun in the shadow of the wizard.
See how he glides why he's lighter than air.

Hot wind, moving fast across the desert.
We feel that our time jas arrived.
The world spins, while we put his dream together.
A tower of stone to take him straight to the sky.

All eyes see the figure of the wizard.
As he climbs to the top of the world.
No sound, as he falls instead of rising.
Time standing still, then there's blood on the sand.

Where was your Star?
Was it far?
Was it far?

NWA - DOPEMAN

Eazy E "maaaan i wouldn't touch that bitch!"

Ice Cube "Me niether! -Ho go home and wash out your beaver"

Heh heh. Not really, but it does make me chuckle.

Favorite Lyrics

A couple of my favorite lines from one of the best wordsmiths, Lowell George of Little Feat:

Spot check Billy got down on his hands and knees
and he said "Hey, momma, hey, let me check your oil, alright"
and she said "No, honey, no. Not tonight.
You can come Monday, come back Tuesday and then I might"
Fatman in the Bathtub

You yelled "Hey", when your car wouldn't start
So you got real nervous
and started to eat heart out.
Now you're so fat, your shoes don't fit on feet
You've got trouble, and it's tailor made
Well, momma lay your head down in the shade
Cause your eyes are tired, and you feet are too
And you wish the world was as tired as you
So I'll write a letter, and I'll send it away
And put all the trouble in it you had today
Trouble

In 1966 I found my love
In 1967 I had all there was
And as my time went by I was satisfied
Until that situation took me by surprise

Now there's two trains runnin' - on that line
One train's me, and the other's a friend of mine
You know it would be all right, be just fine
If the woman took one train, and left the other behind

Illusion it is just the same conclusion
I don't know how to play the game
Of what it is or how it's going to be
When one train is my friend and the other train is me

Easy, I say easy, I can't push or shove her
So I guess I really care
Now I'm not one to hide my love behind a lock and key
But if things keep going the way they are there's no place left for me

There's two trains runnin' - on that line
One train's me, and the other's a friend of mine
You know it would be all right, be just fine
If the woman took one train, and left the other behind

Two Trains

And possibly my favorite

I've seen the bright lights of Memphis
And the Commodore Hotel
And underneath a street lamp I met a Southern belle
Well she took me to the river, where she cast her spell
And in that Southern moonlight, she sang a song so well

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Well we made all the hot spots. My money flowed like wine
Then that low down Southern whiskey began to fog my mind
And I don't remember church bells or the money I put down
On the white picket fence and boardwalk of the house at the edge of town
But boy do I remember the strain of her refrain
The nights we spent together, and the way she called my name

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Well it's been a year since she ran away
Yes that guitar player sure could play
She always liked to sing along
She's always handy with a song
Then one night in the lobby of the Commodore Hotel
I chanced to meet a bartender who said he knew her well
And as he handed me a drink he began to hum a song
And all the boys there, at the bar, began to sign along

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Dixie Chicken
