What's your favorite Digital Recording machine???!

Hey,

I'm serious about upgrading from my Tascam 424mkII analog 4 track to a 8-track Digital machine. I've looked into the Roland Vs-880EX and teh Boss BR-8. The Roland seems to have alot more pluses (plus more money :P) but the BOSS BR-8 has some nice features for guitar players. I'm leaning toward the VS-880EX, but i was looking for everyone's opinion first hand to what they think?

Look around for a remaindered VS-1680. Now that Roland has come out with the VS-1880 which is the "latest & greatest", the "must-have-all-the-toys" are going for them, leaving the 1680s on the shelves. I bought mine about a year ago ($3k1 fully loaded) and wish I'd waited a year - I've seen them for less than $1k5 - add another $700 for a couple of effects boards (well, you might get by with just one). I love my 1680, and it's a damned sight easier to use than the 880.
