Can the 264 sonic maximizer from BBE be used to enhance the entire mix, or can it only be used for seperate instruments. Does it work well with guitar? I just want to enhance the entire mix because I have a Tascam 414 mkII, that records onto a cheap/old sony casette deck; so the sound quality is not very good (compaired to a high end recorder, ofcourse). How do I hook it up; mixer or stereo?

Do a search on this one. I have been in some long threads about using it for recording. One thing is if you do, be very gentle on the controls because it can get harsh fast.
And yes, the thing gets used from guitar rack setups, bass stups, live PA reinforcement, and some recording.
But do a search and your questions will be answered.

BBE 482

I have the BBE Sonic Maximizer 482 and I like it. I use it between my DAW and the CD-Burner (the whole mix) and it definately livens the mix. Bring a CD of your music to a local audio store and have them play it through a BBE.. thats what made me decide to buy it. It adds alot of that warmth that you would hear in professionally recorded CD's. Like stated above, don't go crazy on the controls though.. you can turn a good mix into a crappy one real quick.

BTW: If someone email me an MP3 encoder I'll post MP3's of my music before and after the BBE.
