I dont get it.....there are les paul gibson guitars are being sold for about £10 on ebay-- then theres a£170 shipping fee... which is alot but these are gibson les pauls so they are still pretty cheap...

has anyone bought one of these? or is there a reason why they are so cheap?

i cant find a link for them now, sods law

i think they are from china or japan.. i knew id forgotten to say something

They're probably the BestBuy Gibson guitars,
not real Gibsons.

Haven't you heard? Gibson is slashing prices like mad. Grab up as many as you can!! Hurry!!

They're all total fakes. They have a bunch of fake guitars with all kind of name brand logos on them. Everything from Gibson to Ibanez, to Kramer! How ebay cancels peoples auctions all the time, but allows those to stay is beyone me.

I almost bid on a firepod once that was up to 50 bucks with a couple hours to go. But then i noticed that it was from china and everybody else was steering clear of it, and they didnt have any feedback, so i left it alone

I think the plastic tuners should have been a clue.
Are the tuners plastic or just the tuning keys? Certainly the casing for the tuner and the gears couldnt be plastic. Please post a link.

Personally If I wanted a guitar that I could just thrash (keep at school, rehersal, lend to friends) I way consider this alternative.

Allthough the item may never reach you.

All I can say is that if you sell anyting on eBay and don't want to pay the full percentage that eBay charges, sell it for $10 and charge a shit load for shipping. eBay only charges the percentage based on the sale price, not shipped. :D

I had a guy call me up in the shop on Monday and start asking me about finishing a Warmoth neck. I told him he could probably get it finished cheaper by having Warmoth do it, but that yes, we could easily do it, and of course how much it would cost. Then he said, can you do inlay on my guitar? Yes, we can, but until we see the design, I can't even begin to give any kind of quote, and of course that would have to be done before it was finished. So he says, "well, I want you to inlay the peghead so it says Gibson."

Ahhhhhhhhh, no. That is not going to happen, no matter what you pay me. It is illeagel, it is unethical, and we have a business relationship with Gibson, so you can just forget it.

But there are a lot of morons out there, and some of them are dishonest enough to do this shit, though it happens a lot more with Fenders (which are decals, and so easier to forge).

When you buy on eBay, Cavet Emptor, as the saying goes.

Nice one, maybe the epiphone box behind it is a sign something's up...

It must be real....it says Gibson right on the trussrod cover.

Nice block inlays on the fretboard, just like a Les Paul Standard should have...er, what?

Let's try that again.....nice diamond inlay on the headstock, it matches the Les Paul Custom style block inlays and multiple binding so well.....

Clearly this is every bit as rare as they claim.

Funny stuff.

I wouldn't buy it. We had a kid come in our store who had bought 4 or 5 Ibanez Jems on ebay for about 3 or 4 hundred a pop. They did a really good job on them, to the point where you'd never know unless you saw it in person. Once you get it in your hands, though, you can clearly tell if it's a fake. 3-piece neck instead of a five, half-assed finish work, cheap hardware.

I was trying to be funny about plastic tuners. I didn't mean the little plastic knob, I meant the entire tuning gear. Ok, stupid joke, let me rephrase that.

The rubber body should ahve been the first clue.

There, better? :D
