what are the best freeware, shareware etc programs out there, there are so many!!The reverbs and compressors in cubase aren't great!what do you recomend from experience?Have you found any gems?

Ive heard about the blockfish but haven't had a chance to use it yet

kvr-vst.com has a list of plug ins.
youll find noisevault.com quite interesting. check out SIR reverb.
not free - but cheap . i like the dx plug ins that came with
powertracks that i use for multitracking. check out the comp/lim sometime and the echo/chorus as examples.
