whats the best type of acoustic pickup?

I am considering on getting a soundhole or bridge transducer what are the pros and cons of each? If you could please tell me what brands you use. I will mostly use it for playing live but is it possible to record with either? Thanks much!!!!!

I would check these guys out for sure for a live setup.

Large and small diaphragm condensors are just too cheap to not use for recording. A pair of piezos combined with a small-diaphragm condensor would make a killer live rig IMHO.

Oh yeah, and I was talking to a friend the other day (whose name you would recognize if I droped it), and his view on the Trance systems was that they were without question the most acurate sounding system on the market, but that they were too time consuming to install, and he had problems with some of the strings being weak. Now, when he tried it, the company was just getting going, but he ended up not using them, and going back to the pickup he had been using previously. My big problem with the Trance systems is that they are non-reversable. They need to be installed with cyanoacrylate glue, and trying to remove them will distroy the pickup and damage the guitar. If you don't like it, you're screwed.

theyre's some nice new Shadow's about, which are quite low priced

I use a Fishman Humbucking Soundhole Pickup. You can hear it in nice b n young. It's not boingy like piezos.
