What's the best soundcard....

....for using midi and soundfonts? The sondblasterlive isn't great, but it will run soundfont files. Is there a better card that will do this as well. I have a large collection of soundfonts that I like using, I'd like to get rid of the noise that seems to plague the creative soundcards. What would work the best, without blowing the very tight budget?
 
That looks like it might work, except the elderly pc I'm using is too slow to run this program. Any other ideas out there?
 
bth - with respect and i know its a pain, sooner or later
one has to realise to have a successfull daw one has to
have POWER. look at a cheap amd system.
they are 380 bucks in my area. use a 8mb cache fast hard drive with it and 512 ram and it should last you a long time.
another option would be as a lot of high end folks will upgrade to hi end amd 64 systems over the next year you might be able to find a used amd athlon for a few hundred.
if you want FAST i found monarchcomputer.com are selling amd 64
for a reasonable price. but i dont know how good they are.
