i take it u want a computer base program...the top one right now is Reasons or u can use fruity loops listen to Jugalo180 post and see what u can do with FL. u can aslo use Band-in-thebox by steinberg its nice too...those some that i knnow..

I like ACID 3.0.... I'm very tempted to get 4.0 and see what the VST support and other extra crap is about. I never tried reason but my partna getting into the game is really coming with it with that shit.

...

Acid 4 is very good Lazi

the option to create a new track just from high-lighting is such a welcom feature

(it was always so time consuming to render a certain piece, then save it to a folder, then forget what folder you put it in, in Acid 3)

now with the render to new track feature its just added to your project automatically

the support for VST and much better MIDI control is also good
and its very stable imho, only have had it crasha few times

peace

Yes, you should check out Acid 4.0.

You can insert a soft-synth, such as, Battery. Then you can have one of your midi controllers (MPD 16, Oxygen, MPC, Triton, etc...) trigger the samples that you have loaded into Battery (while Acid records the patterns).

Acid 4.0 is VERY nice, indeed. :D

yo

everyone has mentioned some of the best programs to get you straight. i love to do my beats in acid and vegas video(formerly known as vegas audio). the snippets of instrumentals on my page are exclusively done within fruity loops. feel free to check em out.

yo, if that was meant for me i really apreciate the feedback, and if it wasn't, then don't i feel dumb(lol).

to devilfire:

got anything you did with reason i could listen? i've been
working with it for about 8 months, and i'd like to see if i'm completely off track... i might not be using it to it's full potential :). and btw do you know where i could get useful (hiphop speaking) samples or reason refills???

to trax:

Fruity Loops is easy to get and easy to use, so you might wanna start off with this one.

Reason 2.0 is what i'm using. I don't like all the drums included in it, but besides that the program has pretty good synths and if you download a big load of samples like I did, you can do some tight shit.

I've used Sonar, Reason and FL, and Reason's my favourite yet.

I dloaded the Demo for Reason 2 and plugged it into sonar with rewire. Then I got on my midi controller and stuck a chord and couldn't believe what came out of the Mackie 824s.

I mostly use surreal, but im going to Reason.

yo i need to know what equipment i can get in stores to make beats that i can get in stores....not for the PC cuz im starting a studio in my crib but send me a email if u know of anythin .......thekiddRR@msn.com

go onto ebay and try to buy a roland mc-303 sequencer. its got everything you need, drums, bass, synth, stc. it'll probably set you back 175.00 dollars. its a blast.

when you get comfy with that then get yourself a 8 or 4 track digital recorder, you can get'm now a days with a cd burner installed. go to americanmusicalsupply.com or go to the store and get an audio mag and send in requests for a catalog. probably cost like 600.00 dollars.

i remember this thread, the funny thing is that's not even a link to my music. i don't know how in the hell that happened.

Alot of people say that Fruity Loops sucks but I disagree. It all depends on how you use FL that will really determine if the beat is good or not. 9th Wonder for instance uses FL.

Everything with the ART pic next to it and the Bruce Lee pic were made by me using FL. The further down you go the less experience I had when I was using it so you can see that the more you get used to it the better you will probably get.
