It really depends more on the room and how good the mime is... then we can get to which mic, pre, etc....


You shouldn't use a shotgun, though, because a mime is a terrible thing to waste.

Before you worry about which mike, consider your room treatment.

Also, what kind of battery will you wire up to the mime's testicles during the performance? I think DieHard gives the mime a nice, energetic performance with the detail and precision of solid state while maintaining 'warmth' of tubes.
