I´m quite happy with my Guitarport. Audiointerface and modeling software in one easy to use package.
Same here! Really, any Line 6 product is good (Guitarport, Toneport UX1 & UX2). Getting used to them doesn't take very long at all!
These Line 6 productis comes with Guitar effects software with them, and have tons of presets (for Cabs, Amps, etc.) whether its an Acoustic or Electric.
Each Guitarport and Toneport product comes with an interface where you plug your guitar into the interfaces, and the interface plugs directly into your computer via USB.
The only big difference between Guitarport and Toneport is that Guitarport comes with Gearbox software, which adds effects to your guitar with Amps and Cabs, and so on and so forth.
BUT, you need to download or buy your OWN recording software, and you can ONLY RECORD YOUR GUITAR.
Toneport allows you to record not only your guitar AND voice, but comes with Riffworks, which is kind of like Gearbox, and with different kinds of effects, and can record your guitar, unlike Guitarport! But still, you are limited with what you record, and how much you record (such as editing, and drum machines).
Your best bet, if you only want to spend $300 or less on interfaces and recording software, I'd say go with either Guitarport with SONY ACID or CAKEWALK.... or just buy the Toneport and get used to how to record decent tracks with
the Riffworks software. To me, I think that's probably the best, easiest, and cheapest way to go for amature recording like I started out using!!
