whats the best copy?

im thinking about getting a firebird guitar. I would love to get a gibson but I don't want to drop 1500 bucks on a guitar. Do any of you guys have experiance with Epiphone or Tokai guitars. If so, tell me your opinion of these brands

I have an Epiphone Thunderbird bass that plays and sounds great. I have no complaints at all.

Of course, YMMV.

I have an epiphone basher. It sounds and plays great and it suits me just fine. I'm not really obsessive enough about my guitar sound to give a damn that it's not an authentic les paul (and I don't think the general listening public cares either).
