i second that unless u get a digital interface for your computer that connects to a stand alone A/D/A converter

I was talking about soundcardm if a motu or a rme or a presonus, i know the best a/d convert is from apogee

but, in sound cards ?

thanks

I'll triple that. check out the lynx 2. It is a sound card albeit a pricey one.

really?...where does lucid rate?....

now are you looking for best, or best for a ceratin price?.....how many channels do you need and what is the budget?.....

lyn2 only come in:
4in 4 out
2 in 6 out
6in 2 out

wit aes
and adat(i think)

but sonically its the best sound card out there it supposedly ranks up there wit apogee and who knows with its 192khz maybe better?

and when i said standalone i meant:
mytek, cransong, prism, benchmark

Exactly. If you want 8 channels get two they work very nicely together. Set them up in the 4 in 4 out configuration and cascade them. that is if you are looking for the best soundcard converters. I've heard great things about the RME cards, also some plauge-like problems.
