Just another guy, really.
Look at the second-to-last pic:

What is that thick, yellow stuff apparently pooled at the bottom (front of guitar) of the pot cavity? It's obviously there for some reason, but I don't ever remember seeing it there on other guitars. Shielding? Stabilizer? Snot?:)

Not shilling the sale, (it's not mine,) but that seems a fair price if the git is all he says it is.

There is a sad note attached- apparently New Orleans Guitar Company ultimately fell victim to Hurricane Katrina- there were articles, both on the net and in print, about Vincent Guidroz's return to New Orleans to reopen, but his website is no more than a front page. I have a phone number for NOGC, but it's too early in the morning to call, yet. I met Vincent, around 2 BK, when I stumbled across his shop on Alexander Street (my son lived just up the street,) and have wanted a NOGC piece ever since. Sure hope he's still in business.

Looks like an expanding foam cavity resin..

Just joshing. It looks to me as if it's the adhesive used to glue the cap to the body. The body has been routed right through and the cap glued on after leaving the adhesive showing.

I would have never thought of that. That's why we come to you with our questions, oh wise one.

I ain't that wise I've just seen just about every construction method out there and tried most of them too..;)

Thanks for the answer, Mut. Glad you got it in, as the pic is now gone.
