Actually, sticking a piece of gum in my mouth helps me preventing to make funny faces, it somehow stops my mouth from moving in a spastic way.

bdbdbuck: yep, damn that jazz music and its solo's. If I wanted to play solo's i'd become a guitar player

appearly alot of people do something weird with their mouth. I am glad to find out that I am not the only one. Wonder if there is a scientific explaination to it.

Thanks for the tip on gums. Gotta try that

When I play I make a conscious effort to look cool, I put all my concentration into my facial expressions... My playing dramatically suffers from it, but its better to look cool than to play good....
Its all about image....:):)

Heh. I try to do both. I.e., I try to smile, etc. while playing well. I sometimes even try to make faces that match my playing. For example, I'll make a screaming face when I hit a screaming pinch harmonic... Which looks damn funny when I botch the harmonic and it makes a *twank* sound. :p
