Whats needed to record drums?
There is lots of info out there on how to mic drums...Many ways to record depending on budget.
Lots of people using sm57's on snare and using two condensor for overheads then micing kick drum and other drums depending on the amount of mics they have and there budget.
My question is this...I have an interface that only has one input...Im guessing I need to get an interface with perhaps 8 inputs or I need to get a mixer.
A mixer sounds like the cheapest way to go however when I record with a mixer how does my DAW record/seperate each track individually...how do I get kick,snare,toms and overheads recorded seperately if they are all going into the mixer then into one input on the interface.
