Whats up people. Im new to the recording world and im working on my studio but i aint no expert...Im learning. As a newbee, I seem to think I got all the equipment I need from what I was told, but I wanna make it as professional as I can. I just bought sound blaster but from what Ive already seen on this sight it aint that good. I got my mixer and receiver and speakersI need a keyboard, make it soundproof and a new microphone. So I was wanting some advice of the good equipment, software, and everything else. thinks.nativikee, peace.

That's a really tough question. Do you have a budget in mind for your studio? Saying that you want to make it "as professional as I can" could get very very expensive. What style of music will you be making? Here's a tutorial of how to set up a basic studio, with fairly inexpensive equipment:

Unfortunately, there's really no "best" or "worst" when it comes to equipment choices, just different flavors that may or may not suit your needs (or wallet).

I agree with Scrubs, your question is too broad for any one person to answer. I think you need to break it down. You pretty much figured out you need a mixer, a better interface (the soundcard), and you mentioned speakers (you want studio monitors, not just standard home stereo speakers)

Here is another link to check out. Look at the links on the left hand frame, and do some searching that way:

Good luck.

Thinks for yalls help, well first of all Im gonna be rappen, but All my chores im gonna have singers, I dont want the studio to be too expensive but I dont wanna it to be too cheap, Im taking my time, I aint in a hurry to get it finished cause I want it to be right. Im gonna get all the equipment setup than Im gonna go back and build a recording booth. As yall see I really dont know much about it yet. Im learning. But the people in my city told me all the wrong stuff. I bought the wrong interface. and I didnt know to buy moniters instead of home stereo speakers. so thats 2 things I gotta go back and buy again. but If you come up wit any advice on my set up, sound booth, or soft ware, than its really appreciated, think you.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask, Im using a home stereo receiver, is that good or is there something else I need to buy instead, thinks.
