I can make good R&B and hiphop beats from that? Where can I get that? Can you post a link or something? Thanks.

Are you talking loops (sounds) or are you talking software?

Regarding loops, you can start with the classics. Search the web and download samples of the Amen, Apache, Scorpio and other classic breaks. This is the raw material many of the great early hip-hip producers started with - and still do today.

I'm talkin bout a software that you can download on the computer

oic so you want something with instruments........try using cubase. you can use many vst's(virtual instruments). or, try using fruityloops. personally i don't use computer software stuff to make beats. i used to use acid a long time ago until i got a triton.

Welcome aboard sexy baby! :D

(Hey, I shouldn't do that... I already have a girlfriend... )

Loops... what do you mean by loops? Do you mean like already made drum beats that you loop over and over again? Or are you talking samples that you loop? (The melody in the instrumental)

I suggest you do a little search before trying to start making beats... Learn about sequencing software that is available on the market... Find what suits best your needs and you budget...

A few softwares you should look for:

~ CoolEdit Pro - Sampling and sequencing software... Great piece of software
http://www.syntrillium.com for more info

~ Reason - Sequencing software... All in one studio with synths, samplers, etc... My personal favorite
http://www.propellerheads.com for more info

~ Acid 3.0 - Simple sequencing software... Best suited for the newbie
http://www.sonicfoundry.com for more info

~ FruityLoops 3.0 - Another sequencer... Really great piece of software but I personnaly feel everything sounds more computerized when using it...
http://www.fruityloops.com for more info

~ WaveLab 4.0 - Sampling & Mastering software... I use it for mastering... It's a bit pricey but it is the best on the prosumer level...
http://www.steinberg.com for more info

There's more but those are the ones I'm used to...

If you have a big budget ($2000+), you could always go the hardware way with a MPC (This is what Dr.Dre uses to make is beats) or a Korg Triton. Ebay is a good place to start to find good low priced equipment:

http://www.ebay.com

Also, start reading on recording has much as you can... Even if it's rap, the instruments you will sample and integrate in your beats will act the same way real instruments does (or almost). A really good place to find information on mixing, compression, equalizing, mastering and etc. is:

http://www.studiocovers.com/articles.htm

If you plan on 'building' yourself a little studio in your house to record the rappers and singers, John Sayers (which is a member here and a well known studio designer) has a website on studio building and design:

http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html

(Tip: If you want to talk to John, he's hanging in the 'Studio Building and Display' forum... He's a really helpful guy)

Just lurk around the message board and you will find loads of informations... Another great place to find info is the Archive forum. Everything old is there (Hey, old doesn't mean outdated!)...

Also, I suggest you listen to what people produce themselves around here... there's loads of talent in this forum... (Raticus, LAZI, pgm, Attilah, DA GOAT, Devilfire... and everyone else I forget...)

If you have questions about this forum in particular you can ask them to SPINSTERWUN... He's the moderator and he's always willing to help... (Hey SPIN, when will I be moderator?! :D)

So welcome again, enjoy yourself...

Like many here have pointed out to you there are several pieces of software that you could use. Try cubase / acid/ reason / fruityloops.....Beathoven was nice by leavin you all the links......

Follow the tutorials in each one of these software pieces and ask questions that you don't understand.... There are forums on this BBS dedicated to each one of these programs,,,,,

That is not a diss to you, SexyGurl. I am laughing at the first thought that Beathoven had when he saw you post the question "What is a Triton?".
