What's a great pair of headphones for mixing?

I've been trying to check out a great pair of headphones for mixing with and most people seem to be leading me towards Beyerdynamic by the reviews on other sites. I was thinking about getting the Beyerdynamic 770dt pro because its a closed can and isolates sounds well (supposedly), but I'm still not too sure. I have about $200 to spend on it (I wouldnt mind getting used), and the main thing I'm looking for is that it's closed, and that it has a good soundstage and is able to isolate individual instruments. Any suggestions?

You sure you don’t mean, “what’s a great pair of headphones” for tracking?? You cannot really mix using headphones. There have been numerous discussions on this board regarding the “Why Not”.
 
I know you think it sounds good (and it does) when you get ever thing tweaked just right using your head phones, but as Blue Bear’s article said and many others will tell you, Head phones are not a true representation of the sound. Listen to that same mix through a good stereo system and tell me if it sounds the same?

Would these work as monitors?

i do have my mackie c300i 250 watt speakers and my 808s power mixer (also mackie). I don't have any true monitors though. Do you these these would work well for mixing, or do i need actual monitors? Thanks
 
You need monitors.... PA speakers are a completely different beast to studio monitors.....
