whats your home recording setup ?

well..i use cool edit pro 2.0 for all my mixing/compression etc...

Mic's

MXL v93m - i did all my shit on this for the past two or three years pretty much.. its bright...and i have a semi-dark voice at times..and it livens it up. I like the mic..

Audio Technica AT3035 - recently purchased...i been recording with this for about 3 months now...im liking it..its alot better on siblance (i used to have some harsh s's sometimes)...not quite as bright...but sounds pretty nice when i mix correctly.

Preamps/Interfaces
M-Audio Audiobuddy - this is what i almost always record on..i use it with an old compaq presario ..lol and a stock soundcard believe it or not... It works well with both mics.

M-Audio Omnistudio USB - i got this for a laptop recording interface.... I've only recorded one track with it(sleptonfam: the way they do my life) ...and it made the siblance harsher on my V93m...so i went back to the audio buddy...havent tried it with the AT3035 yet...

thats basically it....i have possibly the shittiest soundcard i can possibly have....but i will need a new computer alltogether to step up my soundcard.

i'm working with the mp7 px7 mk6 all by emu
Live by ableton

Cubase & wavelab by you know who
host of plugins

Soundcraft 10 mixer
Gina 24( trying to replace now)
and yes i will admit it a tube by behringer....what ...what

AND I STILL CANT MAKE A DECENT BEAT

Hardware:
Keys: Roland XP-10 and Oxygen8 as MIDI controllers (laptop and PC separately)
Mic: Audio Technica XM2 (eventually I'll add a Shure SM57 or 58)
Soundcard: M-Audio Delta 44 (by the way, Beat if you want to get rid of that Gina, PM me and we can discuss that. I love Echo cards).

Software:
Reason 3 (that's my shit, I work magic with that)
Cubase SX 1
a crazy amount of refills and plugins
Acid Pro 5

Here's my plan to get (soon) list:
Triton rackmount
M-Audio monitors
1 to 5 CD duplicator
Sure SM57 or SM58

And yeah I'll admit I got some Behringer shit too. It's workin' for me right now, but I know I'll upgrade later. My mixer works aiight since it stays in the same place and I just use it for extra control over my mic. My compressor does what it's supposed to and so does my tube amp. All I need that to do is boost the signal...that's it.

i plan on getting rid of all this and getting a fantom 6 by roland

I'll never limit myself to one tool to make music....if that makes me a gear sliut down the line so be it.

im using reason 2.5, the 2496 card, a 10 track mixer, resolv 50a's, cubase sx, behringer effects processor, MXL 2001 and a badass computer

'Sup wit' ya'!

Cubase SX
Fruity Loops
Korg Triton Extreme 61 (I sigh for the Oasys.:) )
Emu Mo' Phatt (Well...waiting on it to arrive from Ebay purchase)
ST Audio DSP2000 C-Port soundcard
Audio Technica 4033se mic

I use:

ACID Pro 4.0
Cool Edit Pro 2.1
Korg Triton Le
M-Audio SP-5B monitors (they kinda suck)
Stock soundcard (I know, I know)
Behringer Eurorack 602A mixer
Behringer B1 condenser mic

Additional gear:
Newports
Miller Lite
Some green shit.... umm... after all, I smoke more trees than forest fires.

Pretty basic stuff, but I think I get mpretty decent results even though I suck at mixing.

Marlboro 100's
Black and Milds
sleep deprivation

^those work wonders together.

Damn...

I don't smoke and I won't drink when I'm recording so I'm fucked.

goin hardware this time..less headaches

Here's Mine

Hardware:
Mics:Studio B1, Behringer B1, ADK Vienna (coming reaaalll sssooonnn), Shure ksm 27 (on loan right now for special project)
Rack:Focusrite Platinum Trakmaster (for compressor, eq, and pre)
Cables: All Mogami!!
Drives:120 GB External harddrive
Monitors: Event Monitors
Soundcard:Default Sound card (getting an EMU1212 reeeaaalll Sooonnn)
Keyboard:M-Audio radium 61

Programs:
Recording/Mixing:Adobe Audition 1.5, Acid music studio 5.0
Pre-Production:Reason 3.0
Sampler:Recycle 1.0
Samples: 3 GB's worth
Effects:Waves Bundles (i don't care wat anyone says i saved up for mine!), anything made by voxengo (i love those bad boys), and any thing free to help enhance the sound quality of my product

Said all that but am tempted to go all hardware as well, i'll keep the comp for storage and pre-production.
Looking into a good Workstation for about a G or a G and a half, heck i'll even mix in adobe audition cause i still love it that much!!
Remember saving wat you need is the key to buying wat you want!

I'm working towards blending software and hardware kind of like the best of both worlds type thing. If I have something good, I won't ditch it...I'll just enhance it.

Eventually I'll replace my Behringer mixer, compressor, and pre amp (just keep them on backup in emergency situos)
I'm looking to add the Triton rackmount, Fantom rackmount, MPC1000, some extra mics, monitors, and switch out my Roland for a M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 (that Ozonic looks kind of sweet and compact enough as well....and still be able to switch octaves)

I'll buy all that piece by piece. I should be getting the Triton rackmount hopefully by Christmas....then I'm stacking back for the MPC
