what would you recommend a one man band, Logic (studio) + interface or Mbox2 pro factory bundle?

$$ is not a problem since Logic + FW interface = Mbox2 pro factory, if not equal pretty close

Number of musicians is irrelevant.

What is important is how you are comforatable with a sequencer's workflow and interface.

Go to the bookstore (I have yet to see and Barnes&Noble or Borders that doesn't have book on ALL the major sequencers including Logic and ProTools). Grab a cuppa java in the cafe and READ READ READ until you see something that clicks for you!

(and go to a music store that has them and will let you play with them before buying if you can..)

If money is not a problem and you don't want to have cables everywhere or deal with patchbay's then get one of these.

I've had one for a week and just cannot get over the sound quality. The DAW integration is awesome. All kinds of routing options but it's easy to use!

what are you actually going to be recording?

You mean instruments, right?
well, electric guitar, going direct throught a Line 6 POD, DI'd bass guitar, Alesis SR16 drumm machine, keyboards and synths sounds using garageband instruments and a yamaha keyboard (not MIDI)

Style: Rock and a little pop

Songs: my own songwriting

I have the instruments and have been recording to garageband for a few months now, thought of upgrading a little since I'm going throught the line in jack on the Mac

That's on my agenda, just wanted to get a feel of what you all think about the subject, I know this is a matter of the interaction between the user and interface
