i am anxious to see what your suggestions are.Fell free to critique any part of my setup,or/and add your own suggestions on gear that is "must have"

also any suggestions on how you would most efficiently link the midi room to the protools setup for 32 track seperate track recording.......patch bays etc????

btw....i know i didnt come anywhere near 200000 worth of equipment but you were figuring other costs of running the buisness

any input at all towards any aspect of building/owning and operating a commercial studio will be much appreciated.

thank you

I think I'd post this in the studio design forum, or maybe in the cave. If you actually HAVE that money, I'll come help you build it for 2 free days in the finished product :) I could build something badass for half that, though, I think.

If you are spending your money, then you would know what you need to purchase. :)

Can you operate the equipment you are purchasing???

Say....aren't you my long-lost father?

Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do i sense jealousy..........yes i know exactly what i NEED to buy,and i probably know how to use it better than most.

if your wondering i am not as "seasoned" as SOME on here which is why i asked THEYRE opinions. What i did not do is ask "hey guys do you think i know what im doing?" because i know what im doing.I am 19 years old and would like to hear what some of you veterans would do in my situation.

myself and my associates will have no problem setting it up (thanks for the offer anyways)

my main three questions are:

how much will it cost to transform office space into the studio?

generally how large of a facility will it take?

reccomondations on materials, and techniques on the soundproofing/acoustics/design

and any other suggestions you would make to me (im not asking for a manual, just some critique)

thank you

Ed(Sonusman) does equipment consultation...email him...if you have that much money, budget part of it for his consulting fees....

I second the "take it to the studio design forum" post.

I think John Sayers is out of town now, but when he gets back, he might be the man to talk to about the design questions.
