What would you do to my desk/shelf?

Well, in the room I'm putting my studio in, there's this desk shelf. On top is where I'll put my computer monitor, studio monitors, mixer, mouse...etc. However, it has a shelf type thing under it, which I'm not sure how I would go about treating. I was thinking about covering it with acoustic quilts/curtains and leaving the parts with my computer and rack (when I get my Firepod, etc) open. I would also like to cover it up to keep my computer noise out of the room.

Included are some pictures to show you what I mean. Please comment and give input as to how I should go about treating this part of the room. I'm thinking about contacting Auralex for the rest of my room, and then leaving up to you guys for this.

Not sure what you could but I'm sure of one thing.

With that center section underneath, I would quickly tire of not being able to sit with my legs under the desktop.

I wouldn't use that setup for monitors. Too narrow, too close to the windows behind.

I guess okay for tracking but I'd want to mix somewhere else.

I'm building/buying a panel that I can put the keyboard and mouse on. It'll work out, but I see your concern. I thought about that too.
