gimmi your mic!
I guess I've figured it out: the crossed circles are ceiling lights, right? And the dashed lines must be the power cords. I should have become an architect ;-)

Fletcher once posted if he had to only have 16 mics then he'd get:
1) Brauner VM-1 KHE (best mic I've ever experienced)
2) Brauner VM-1 KHE (would like a pair)
3) Soundelux E-47 (close enough to an original U-47, but without the
worries)
4) Soundelux Elux-251 (close enough to an original ELAM, less expensive)
5) Soundelux iFET 7 (extremely versatile lg. diaphragm FET condenser)
6) Josephson Series 4 (awesome sm. diaphragm FET condenser)
7) Josephson Series 4 (would like a pair)
8) Royer SF-12 (great stereo ribbon mic)
6) Royer R-121 (great mono ribbon mic)
7) Royer R-122 (has a different texture than the 121)
9) Shure SM-7 (Great utility mic)
10) Shure SM-57 (Good utility mic)
11) Shure SM-57 (Good utility mic)
12) Shure SM-58 (Good utility mic)
13) Shure SM-58 (Good utility mic)
14) Sennheiser MD-421 (Good utility mic)
15) Sennheiser MD-421 (Good utility mic)
16) Sennheiser MD-421 (Good utility mic)

That's it. That particular plan shows the electrical lay-out, switches, plugs, and lighting.Giganova said:I guess I've figured it out: the crossed circles are ceiling lights, right? And the dashed lines must be the power cords. I should have become an architect ;-)

DJL said:
Are you still sore? lol
cominginsecond said:No. It's just that you seem to be in love with kick drum mics. Just surprised you didn't recommend one. Why is that an indication that I'm still sore? Or that I was ever sore?![]()
Ahh, I see. The EV RE20. Your love affair with the kick drum mic continues...DJL said:But, I did. lol.

No, and I never did before.Your not going to try and ruin this thread too... by tryig to get me to engage in an argument with you... are you?
cominginsecond said:No, and I never did before.
If anyone's confused here, I don't blame you. DJL keeps editing things out that I respond to and adding things so that I never really get a chance to respond. I'm not trying to start an argument here, but it's hard for me to think you're not doing it intentionally to make me look bad. Are you?
Neither of us are reading each other's posts very well. I recommended that he get a kick drum mic like the D12.DJL said:No, but I will if you want me too.
So, what do you recommend he should add to his mic locker... or are you just in this thread because you saw I posted here?

I knew you were going to say this. I almost addressed this in the previous post, but I didn't want to ratchet up the level of argumentativeness. No, I don't have one. My recommendation was that he buy a kick drum mic, and, since he has a big ol' budget, that he get what many pros (pros that I respect) consider a really nice kick drum mic: the D12. I have an AT Pro 25, which, while beating an SM57, does not give me the sound I am after. I would like to someday get a D12, but that's not in the budget right now; I have a record to get mastered and manufactured.DJL said:Is that what you have, an AKG D12?

DJL, I don't want to keep this pissing match up. I propose a cease fire. If that means you don't respond to my posts and vice versa, then so be it. I think what we're doing now is a waste of time for everyone.
SM7, eh? I never heard that on kick, but it might be great.Michael Jones said:I have heard, although I haven't tried it yet because my current room sux for drums, is that the SM7 is a great choice for kick. It has a high SPL, and nice response in the low end, and being a dynamic, less of a proximity effect; all of those making the SM7 a good choice for kick.
I have 2 of them.
Sure, why not. All our fights are really stupid anyway. But we can still be friends, right?
Michael Jones said:Well for what its worth, a D12 is on my long list, but not my short list of mics to obtain.
