Hey guys..I'm not a cakewalk user, but I did once use some cakewalk software which I liked for MIDI applications but forgot waht it's called :D ...I used it at my friends place a couple of times, and really liked it...I think it was something like Cakewalk Express Gold..or something like that....can any of you think of a name like that...?? I tried doing a search but didnt find anything....
or maybe my memory is just bad, and such program doesnt even exist??
Thanks

:) ..nah man...I found that one before I posted, but it's not the one...evnthough it is called express...this thing that I'm talking about was I think really cheap, and not so advanced, but I liked it...very user friendly....the guy that had it is not around anymore, so I can't ask him either:( ...I think it was something like Cakewalk Gold Express...shit..what was it???:D

It's called Cakewalk Express Gold, and it's made in many versions, the latest being version 8. It's possible that your friend had an early version.

Furhter research shows that Express Gold is based on the old Pro Audio sound-engine, and you'll be much better off with HomeStudio 2002 or Plasma.

I know that Computer Music gave away a Cakewalk freebie, called Cakewalk Plasma Express...

a buddy of mine used to run cakewalk on a commodor computer, it had to have been like ver1. or vers1.___something.
The innovative development of Cakewalk over the years has been awesome.

Hihi, I think I know what you mean;

I'm at work, so I can't check, but I got a version named "Cakewalk Gold Express", or something similar, along with my el-cheapo controller keyboard.
I'll look it up for you....

Ditto, Express has been included in many software bundles that come free with hardware purchases. I believe they include it free with the Audiophile 2496...

Tabnak Hihi, I think I know what you mean;

:D You know what I mean man...that thing thats sick for the midi sequencing...let us know if thats the one....send a screen shot or something..hehe...I'd love to find that exact version...I think it was version 5 or similar.....probably useless program, but I loved it..:D :D

They were bundling Cakewalk Gold Express with the SB Live Platinum at one point thats where your friend probably got it from

do you guys reckon that newer versions of Express would have very similar MIDI features??? probably not hey....

I have the Express Gold 8.0 that came bundled with a SB product. From the Newbie point of view, it made an excellent recording of some old jazz cassettes using my Turtle Beach sound card and Akai 760D deck.

I'd like to replace it with the optimum software product, but I'm still in learning mode about what to get.
