Hi.

I'd really appreciate any comments good or bad on my latest toon. It's a bit late-night jazzy, with alot of sax.

Oh, and Merry christmas!

Geezer

Geezer,

Great tune! The sax and guitar both sound so smooth. How did you record them?

I really like the tone of the guitar.

Keep it coming!

Smooth playing geezer.I love the sax and guitar.....nice light jazz groove to the song. What are you recirding on?What type of mics did you use to record the sax and guitar?

I'd love to know how the guitars were recorded as well - quite nice! I'm currently not a big fan of smooth jazz but I liked this song (all saxed out for several years, having the radio at my buddy's shop fixed on the local smooth jazz station.) Quite professional!

Sax and guitar sound really suhhhhweet on this one, Geezer. The only deficit, and it is noticable to this observer, is the entire drum section section is needing a mo-fo dose of clarity and definition. Bass drum needs a little oomph, cymbals are anemic, especially the hats sound rather muffled, and the rimshot hits need a bit of a push to the forefront. Really dug this. Great effort. I am wondering if this can be fixed as is. Hmmmmm. ;) ---Lee

PS.....Sounded sooooo pretty, I did a compl. master tonight attempting to improve the high end. Something I have enjoyed doing about twice a week to keep me ears honed. ;) The high-hat was "unreachable". Can't dig that far. :( Overall it really shines though...and it was fairly shiney in the first place. :) Unfortunately, you are unreachable via PM or e-mail. If you want me to send this comp job to you, PM your e-mail addy to me and I will be glad to send it to you. The pleasure was all mine. Regards, Lee

Yo Geezer????????????No replies on the questions asked regarding the recording??????????????????????????

Howdi Kramer.

Sax (not me) was recorded into AKG c414 into Cubase SX 1.03 - added a bit of delay to smooth things over.

Geetar (me) recorded using my Pod XT - again, added a bit of delay to smooth things over!.

Then I added a spot of reverb to the whole thing - to smooth things over.

Regards, geezer

It didn't work! - email server probs.

:(

(BTW I just sent you an email)

Hi Lee

It didn't work which is a real shame. :(

Seems there's a 3MB limit to my inbox! It tried to download a file that was 8mb so couldn't do it. Unfortunately, ISP's over here in the UK are crap.

I'm embarrassed to ask but maybe you could send a slightly compressed version?

Thanks for trying anyway - appreciate it.

(BTW I emailed you via the link in your profile so you should've got it).
