What to get next

Hello I am wanting to buy new equipmnet later on but i don't know what to get next and what would be good for what i want to do.
I have
Compaq Persario
standard soundcard
Behringer UB1204 Pro mixer
Yamaha Drum Machine

We need a little more info, like how many inputs do you need on your sound card? or are you just using your drum machine and a mic, you should get a new sound card and a good pair of monitors at least but we dont know what you are trying to do with this setup.

I agree that the soundcard needs to come first, but I'd put monitors second or third depending on what he's trying to do. If he's recording synths and drum machines and no vocals, then mics aren't important at all. I'd put the mic pres last. His mixer has 4 which would get him going. Without speakers he's going to have to use headphones (which we don't know if he has).

Of course saying you have a "Presario" doesn't tell us much of anything other than that you've got a Compaq. How about telling us what speed and kind of processor, how much memory, hard drive size, etc.

One cannot overemphasize the importance of the lava lamp though.
