What the hell??? Funky wave file.

Normally when I look at a wave file, it is more or less symmetrical above & below the center line. I recorded a bass track the other day that has all of the action above the center line & not much going on below. I can't tell how it effected the actual sound of the track (I wasn't crazy about the bass players tone/touch anyways) Any idea what caused this?
 
I don't know the reason why, but bass waveforms are nearly always asymmetrical-looking. So if it sounds good, go with it.

As long as your zero-crossings are actually at zero (ie no DC offset), then there is no problem. Bass is just like that. :)
