I've been doing a little research into computer recording.
I have things like monitors(yorkville), mics, instruments etc. cause ive been recording on a korg D16.
The real question I guess is im looking to upgrade from the D16 if possible using a computer based system. Im willing to spend up
to $1000.00 on a soundcard if its worth it. Any suggestions on what card comes highly reccomended or what else I should researching would be great. Also info on why computer recording would be better would be helpful as well.
My main objective is the highest quality I can afford with the least
annoyance. (duh) I just hear alot of complaints on these boards and others about latancy/lag.
Ive looked at a few of the Ardvark cards , Mark of the Unicorn cards, Echo Mona/layla, the Delta 1010, digidesign 001 (i think it was 001) and some others I cant remember off the top of my head.
My Computer system is a pIII 1 gigahert, 512 ram, 40 gig hard drive, running windows 2000
Im also looking for suggestions on software, alot of people reccomend cubase and cakewalk or the pro tools LE for the digidesign card.
Im sorry if this message is confusing im pretty new to the computer recording subject so if I probably sound a little retarded but ill learn.
any help appreciated
thanks
