What software can you use to record a video with a webcam?

I have a Logitech webcam and have tried using the software that came with it. The problem is, the Logitech software screws up settings in other software I use.

Is there a third-party software program out there that anyone can recommend?

Honestly, Windows Movie Maker or iMovie work fine for capture. I wouldn't necessarily edit on them, but if it's all you have then it'll work fine.

You may get such softwares from Vorbis or on CNET online.
If you are using webcam for home and on Windows OS, then I suggest you can use free downloadable software:

Windows media encoder. Brilliant piece of software for 3 very big reasons:

1) Free
2) Allows you to pick any audio device in your system as the audio source for the video source
3) Tons of encoding options (including live feed)
