Is it just for audio or would I still need a separate midi program to use my midi euipment?

It is an audio only program. If you do a lot of midi you may want to stick with Sonar. If not, many SAW users use a basic sequencer program like WinJammer with a linker utility. Others have a seperate midi only computer. It really depends on your needs. I use Audio Compositor to render midi to wave and bring those tracks into SAW. Either way, if you work with midi files a lot, it may not be the best solution for you.
 
Cakewalk 3, synced to VS-840, master with Cool Edit Pro and T-Racks.

Tried all other Cakewalks, but keep going back to 3 because it's so simple and easy. and I don't need to record audio.
