...if I strum a chord or play a note and nothing happens?

I should stop taking tips from dragonworks. He told me to boil my strings.

shake yourself around, jump in the air one, shout out aloud "Huray!"

after saying: "MAma I can do it TO!!"

Do this for a while and when you still feel depressed afterwards, just have a beer with Dogman, after that you may be in the mood to do some jamming.

Just check that you haven't lost all your fingers in some industrial guillotine accident that you may have forgot about!

If you have, give Tony Iommi a call and get a referral to a digital Doctor!

:D

i dont have an answer, but this reminded me of the other day. I was practicing with my band, and i had just gotten all my stuff set up. I played a note and after a few seconds of distortion a different note played. I tried a different note and once again an entirely different note played. I stopped hitting notes, and suddenly this guitar solo was coming out of my amp and I wasn't playing a note. I use a tape deck for my distortion - I realized I had hit play instead of record, so it was playing stuff I had played earlier with it.
'twas weird.
sorry for being off topic.

Turn the guitar around. The strings should be facing away from you.

Get out of that crazy forest!

Flying monkeys will be swooping down on you any second!!!:eek:

Your first mistake was playing a chord. Guitar should be all tapping.

Play "Freebird". That seems to be a good catch-all response for guitar questions.

You really should get that checked out. The very thought of nothing happening when you play guitar, that must suck. I mean, I would at least expect a gust of wind. I don't know how I'd cope if, when I strummed my guitar, a doorway into a parallel universe didn't open. And if a giant parrots wielding pickaxes which then attempted to mine for cheese, whilst hosting a techno laser show, didn't appear, I think I would lose the plot and you would have to lock me up... :p

I had that problem for a while too. In fact, it took a good 2 years to realize I needed something called a "cable" to connect my guitar with my amp.
