Call Me Cell

I have a slight problem. I produced a track for an artist, but the thing is that the dude can't write verses to save his life. The only thing that he did on the whole track was the hook. I did all the voice effects trying to liven the song up a little. My question is do you guys think that I should scrap this project and move on to the next, or is it something worth waiting for. I'm posting a link to the file so you can give it a listen. Now before you ask, no this is not the final format for the song. All I'm posting is...Intro,Hook,space for verse one,and the breakdown that I'll probably use at the end of the song, that's if it ever gets completed. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance. By the way the track is called "Bronco", subject to change though.

you can write the verse for him...but with being the producer and all explain to him how you want the track,,its your track and if you feel that its not upto parr tell hime and re-record it..if it still dont sound like you want it to the scrap the project and move on..

I can't comment on the artistic/creative aspects of the song itself -- but you definitely need a better engineer........ distortion is a no-no in the digital world, and that clip is distorting like crazy -- sounds absolutely awful.

thanks for the comments. Now Blue, is the whole track distorting or just some portions?? and what can be done to combat this problem

Fixed Mix

Ok, i did the mix over and this time i payed close attention to my peak meters, something that i didn't do before. i think this new mix came across much better. thanks again Blue Bear for the reply.

To make yourself a better producer you should push them to write better lyrics.
