I checked out hammering. Cool tune. I dig the doomy sound and dynamics. Great vocals.

The only things that seemed odd where the in-your-face mix of the vocals. Perhaps if they were mixed a little lower, and maybe with some more verb or something. The band sounded like they were jamming live, but the vocals seemed more studio-ish. The bass drum was a little weak, but it fit the song style (70s-type).

disclaimer: my work computer speakers are horrible.

I agree down the vox a bit. I think the snare could up just a tad to get a better feel for the beat. The high hats sound nice. Maybe a little more high end presence for the guitars so they cut though slightly better. Not much louder just more defined.

Hammering has a Black Sabbath feel, while Soon has a more Doors/King Crimson sound to me.

I'm liking it.

I'm really liking the drum sound. You might try the guitars at 9 and 3 instead of hard panning. They may blend better that way.

Thanks

Thanks for all the feedback. The drums were recorded with 3 mics; 2 414s accidentally set to omni, and and ATM25 on a closed kick. So I had to feed the kick through Soundreplacer. I was a bit surprised when someone said they kinda liked the drum sound. The overall recording was crap, so I had to 'salvage' as much as I could during mixing and mastering.....
