What set up should I use just to record a sit down interview?

Hi all. I am very new to home recording and want to set up recording an interview between two people. This would be like a radio show sort of interview. I assume I would need an 8 gb laptop with recording software (I've been reviewing loads), an audio interface (with 4 inputs), one condenser mic (centrally located on a table) and each person wearing a lapel mic. Am I being too over ambitious here?

Your thoughts are welcome.

By the way. I am a guitarist/singer who will hopefully be recording some music soon. It's just that this is a seperate project.

I'd say yeah, a little too over ambitious. For my most recent interview I recorded (20 minute chat with a dude about his career), I just took my M-Audio Sputnik, put it in figure-8 mode, and placed it about forehead level with the two of us sitting on each side about 2-3 feet from it. Worked great and sounded awesome.

You will need a DAW (recording software) so either Reaper or Audacity will work for you in a pinch. By 8 gb laptop, I assume you are talking about RAM and you'd be wrong...you could easily get by with 4 or 6, maybe even less. Then you just need an audio interface and a mic (or two if you can't get one with figure-8 pattern). Lapel would work too though.
