Yes, you get a much more detailed, cpu hogging, harddrive raping, sample when recording at these ludicrously high frequencies, but there is one small fact that remains.........
HUMAN HEARING IS ONLY CAPABLE OF HEARING THE SPECTRUM IN A 44.1Khz SAMPLE!!!!

I did hear/read somewhere that it's not just the upper most frequencies that are affected (supposedly improved) by using elavated rates, but 'higher' frequencies are somehow 'inter-related' to (much) lower frequencies within the audible spectrum...therefore affecting (I almost said 'improving'!) the overall sound quality...(by using elevated sample rates)....

Then we go and mess most of it up anyway by down-sampling.....hahaha...it could be considered a joke.
Me?...Just do what ever your equipment can handle, and do what ever sounds good to you.
I've found that you're always going to be wrong or be in conflict with half of the planets 'sound-engineers'...hehehe....just follow your own road.
Anyways...off to see Ace Frehley tonight....that should be fun!..

I record at 48k/24 because the button to change the sample rate source on my digital mixer is broken
