well, be careful becausew pee-on's like me visit this forum and i use a Hafler TA1100.....very underpowered for some, all that i could afford.......

I'm not being judgemental about this, I just want to know what people are using and what's working for them. I'm surely not rich either. I'm just looking for idea's on how to spend my money for the most bang, and get a fairly decent sound. It would be nice to have a professional recording studio though. Maybe I'll hit the lotto...

Yo Flash: [Did you used to be in a Comic Book?]

I use an Yamaha 592 { I think that's the number -- I can look if you need it.]

This is an integrated amplifier and I use it because it connects everything in my studio and gives me great flexibility.

I have two tape decks which can be recorded either way, and I have plugs for two sets of speakers, which I have, and, the unit has a pure through CD switch, AUX, for anything, am/fm if you want to use it, and PHONO, which I still use. A great amp and it gives me all the power I need for my two sets of speakers.

The Hafler supports speakers only; for some, that is fine; for me, nope! The Yamaha does a very good job and the white noise is very low.

With my new DAW Yam 2816, I can record in 24 bit, move it to two track stereo and put it on cassette tape which will be very hi-fi. Needless to say the unit also burns its own CD on board.

I use the Yamaha amp to listen to my monitor speakers and it is a dandy piece of gear.

Hope this helps you out.

I'm embarrassed considering at this point this is by far my weakest link: Alesis Ra100. Ouch that hurt!!!

I do however plan on looking at the haflers or equivalent.I have event 20/20's and that alesis in my opinion doesn't have enough power for my monitors.Plus, I'm looking for a something with less coloration (bad), only if I knew then what I know now!!!

I'm using the Hafler TA 1600 (150 W) with KRK Rokits. I think they are a fine match, but WTFDIK.

I've also heard the 20/20s through the Hafler, and I thought they sounded very good.

Well I hit 4 of 6 in the Fl. lotto, that's good for $85.50... that added to the money I was going to spend on the samson 120, I'm ordering the Hafler TA1600.

The cheaper Haflers(TA1100 and 1600) are VERY good for their price. I've heard the 1100. A guy at my church uses one in his office and gave me a demo. Very nice. I assume the 1600 has to be even better :D.

you wont be disappointed...that Hafler TA1600 is a fine amp.....

My favs are the Bryston amps. Crystal clear!! :):)

cheers
John

It's ordered, musicains Friend. Hefler TA16000 hope I didn't go wrong......

If you ordered a HEFLER - then you DID go wrong... you want a HAFLER!!! ;)

The HEFLER is the cheap knock-off of the Hafler - I think manufactured by Phonic!!!

:D :D
