What percentage of bands pump everything through a PA?

I agree with mshiliarious. Once people step on stage, they're retarded and think that they're the only ones on stage. They purposely try to drown out everyone else. Then afterwards they see a video tape and say "my instrument was a bit too loud huh."
 
I played with some guys once (at a jam) that felt they each needed to be the loudest person in the room. some of these guys were 40 years old or so. I mentioned in the middle of it that it was hard to play being it was so loud and sounded like Sh*T and perhaps some people needed to turn down rather than force everyone else to try to turn up to their level to achive some sort of mix (drowning out the drums of course)

Later a guy I never met before that who had a full stack and a $3000.00 fender strat (who is a great player) said I like jamming with other people, I always learn something. Today I learned some times you need to turn down:eek: :eek: :eek: He had never heard that said before???

I learned that from a friend of mine who was a pro sound man for many years, sadly he died a couple of days ago... I am lucky to have known him...He was very good at pointing out the obvious..
