Well, I just got 4 Tascam DA-88's and I am now wondering weather I did the right thing. Should I have went with a digital hard drive (alesis 24 ch) or are the tape decks a good place to start. I work for a live sound company so I have easy access to consoles and mics so that part I am not worried about. But once I have recorded the tracks on the DA-88's how do I transfer those tracks to my PC? That is where I am getting snagged. I know I need some type of interface, but which one? Should I sell the DA-88's and go for a digital Deck? Let me know what you think.

You'll need a souncard / interface with multiple inputs hooked up to your computer. There's plenty of options to choose from. RME and Lynx make some pricier options that perform really well. M-Audio makes some very reasonably-priced ones that represent some excellent bang-for-buck.

Might want to pay a visit to the Computer Recording forum ... although that question has basically been asked to death over there, I'm sure. :D
