Curious as to what the most popluar MP3 player software is.

This came about after a few discussions I've had with people, who feel Windows Media player possibly colors the sound, not playing back completely neutral.

So, I guess the real question is, after you mix down, and listen to what you have done on your computer, which software are you using to playback?

I like Winamp when using Windows. I feel iTunes is a better on a Mac then on a PC though. Might just be in my head.

Usually after I mixdown, I like to get as far away from the computer as possible to check my mix. For a quick reference though, I usually just check it on Windows Media Player.

I think the bigger concern is: Why would you be mixing down to MP3?

I'm not..... sorry...... I should have never typed MP3.....

...I mix down to WAV.

Damn, glad you caught that Massive. I personally dislike MP3.

I actually check my mixes in Audacity. Then when I transfer to my other computer, I use Winamp.

Itunes, then home stereo, then car stereo, then ipod.

I use a Sansa mp3 player with ear buds . I think it has about 1.5 gigs of memory and it's programable and I carry it with an arm band. I create song lists in the order we do our sets and listen while I run which is like killing two birds with one stone. I also plug it into our car cd player too. It's not the best but pretty adequate for what I'm using it for and it's only about $100.
