I am currently saving all of my pennies for a brand new, (no ebay)
recording/mixing console, I know that at the very least I need 24 channels with direct outs , 4-6 auxs' and preferably a simple way to monitor back from tape. the two mixers I consistently get led back to are the Mackie 24.8 and the Behringer MX9000, I know Mackie and their rep. I dont typically love Beh stuff but the 24.8 board is twice as expensive and you do not even get the meter bridge with it.
I guess my questions would be..........

is the Mackie board worth the extra $1,200?

does anyone have experience with the MX9000?

sound wise are these boards as compareable as they are feature wise?

Is their a company that makes a board with these or similar features for the same $$$ ball park?
THanks for any info

I would love to own the ghost but tha is not quite the same $$$ ballpark.

 An Allen-heath GL-2200-24 would do very nicely, and last a long time, Your budget restricts you from this.....
What could you do to barrow so you could get something much better?
This board has direct outs and sound real good.........
