I've never really gotten that. They're pretty simple instruments. Is it more machanical, or cosmetic?

That's a perfect example ... meanwhile I sell horrible Chinese-built starter fiddles for like £50 ($80) in my shop every day of the week.tourettes5139 said:Totally. Just think how much violins go for that are made by famous luthiers.
The amount of time thing still very much applies, though.
