Alright. I have a keyboard that's connected to my soundcard's MIDI connector. I simply need a program that allows me to eg. select one of the dozens of quality instruments of the program and play the tunes with my keyboard. I could record the results with the program. That's right, no soundcard's midi synth crap, but real quality sounds/instruments of the program.

Jesus I'm bad at english...

Got a Computer??

Let's hope so ... as having a soundcard would be rather pointless if not.

Any rate .... just about all of the sequencing programs that are talked about around here would suffice. Specially if they support virtual instruments.

What's your budget?

I think emegency exit meant to say what kind of computer do you have. since that would limit your options on the software you would be able to run.

I love how people on here are always all cryptic in thier responses to basic questions. taking shots at the noobs, for no reason. and some people act like it always has to be perfect studio quality, or your wasting your time.

This is Home Recording. com it seems some people have lost sight of the "home" part. not in this post particular, but it seems to be a theme with some users.

so anyways there are tons of midi programs check out www.sourceforge.net for the free ones..

I commend crankz1 for being helpfull. without being a smart a$$

thats my 2 cents im out...

Here's another constructive suggestion - download the Tracktion demo here. It comes with a wide assortment of VST plugins when you buy the boxed copy which is available here. Then you can go here where they have a whole bunch of free VSTi's and VST fx. That will get you far, far away from 'soundcard midi synth crap' for an investment of $150.

I have a P4 2.8 ghz, 512mb ram and an internal creative Audigy 2 sound card. Winxp Home.

Budget? Well, it's not a major limit.

Is there a sequencer type of a program that's all about virtual instruments, that can "turn" a simple midi keyboard into a professional synthesizer?

Reason's great. I've used it since version 1. I have some tracks on my site that were made entirely out of it. Check them out at the link above my sig.
